Brian Falkner is visited Darfield High School on Monday 26th April! He is a fantastic New Zealand writer and his latest book 'Brainjack' was shortlisted for both the NZ Post Children's Book Awards, and the Sir Julius Vogel Awards (for Science Fiction books). Brian had an entertaining session with all Year 7,8, and 9 students and then some keen year 7,8, and 9 writers joined him for his writers workshop.

'Eragon' by Christopher PaoliniThis is a story for people who enjoy fantasy and like dragons. It is a great book about how a normal farm boy, Eragon, finds a dragon egg and becomes a dragon rider. When his uncle is killed after the discovery of the egg, Eragon sets off on the back of the dragon to revenge his uncle's death.
